Trent Alexander-Arnold is set for a spell on the sidelines after picking up a knee injury. Liverpool suffered a huge blow on Tuesday afternoon when Pep Lijnders confirmed that Trent Alexander-Arnold will be sidelined for 'a few weeks' due to a knee injury. The Reds defender picked up the injury during Sunday's 2-0 FA Cup win over Arsenal at the Emirates. Alexander-Arnold played a role in his side’s opener when his free-kick was headed into his own net by Jakub Kiwior. Luis Diaz then made sure of the Reds' progress with a breakaway goal in the last minute of added time. His strike came in the fifth minute of stoppage time. However, the Reds must now prepare for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup first-leg semi-final tie against Fulham without their vice-captain. Jordan Henderson offered Saudi Arabia escape route by Ajax.

Ajax are very interested in signing Jordan Henderson if the former Liverpool captain gets the green light to leave the Saudi Pro League. It was reported earlier this week that Henderson wants to leave Al-Ettifaq just six months on from his controversial switch to the Middle East. The England International is said to be unsettled in Saudi Arabia and unhappy with the heat and humidity of the playing conditions and will ‘seriously consider’ any offers from Premier League teams. It remains to be seen whether any English top-flight clubs are interested however, and while Newcastle have been tentatively linked, that move seems highly improbable given Henderson’s ties to boyhood club Sunderland. There are however several clubs around Europe that could offer the 33-year-old an escape route, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Dutch giants Ajax are among those ready to make their move.
